Mr. Williams principally practices in the Seneca Nation of Indians, in the District of Columbia, and in the states of New York and California where he served as a Deputy Attorney General representing and advising the state and its agencies. Mr. Williams has served clients both as plaintiff’s counsel and as defense counsel, from individual actions to multi-billion-dollar class action and multidistrict lawsuits, and has frequently served as an advisor to national, state, institutional and individual clients on matters of litigation and policy.

Amber E. Storr represents businesses, commercial entities, and individual clients in a broad range of complex litigation matters, including business, contract, and real estate disputes. She also focuses on estate litigation that intersects with commercial and real property issues, often arising in the context of Surrogate’s Court proceedings. Amber is admitted to practice in all Seneca Nation courts and federal appellate courts and has experience navigating the jurisdictional and procedural complexities involved in matters affecting sovereign entities and Native nations. In addition, Managing Partner Jody E. Briandi’s practice areas have included commercial, employment and eviction matters.

Evan Y. Bussiere primarily represents Indian families in need of corporate and property matters and in their relationship with foreign law such as that of the United States or New York. Mr. Bussiere’s practice also includes cutting-edge representation for the frequently changing standards impacting cannabis sales and distribution businesses.

The newest member of the Indian Law team, Jeremiah H. Lenihan, has served as the Assistant Chief Counsel for the United States Department of Homeland Security and Assistant United States Attorney in Buffalo, New York.  Mr. Lenihan serves his clients with a unique blend of having been a policy advisor, prosecutor and Adjunct Professor of Law at Daemen University and Montclair State University.

While Hurwitz Fine’s Indian Law attorneys bring diverse perspectives to the team, they share the drive for delivering the best possible outcome while serving a Nation’s executives, its agencies, businesses and individual clients in matters of policy or litigation. Whether advising on policy to a Nation executive or a Judicial officer on a matter of law, helping a business incorporate or reorganize, resolving complex property interests involving divorce or death, or helping a parent assert their parental rights, we are honored to serve and advocate for our clients.
