Insurance Coverage Attorney (Buffalo, NY)

Hurwitz & Fine, P.C., seeks an attorney admitted to practice in New York to join our insurance coverage practice group in our Buffalo, New York office on a full time basis.  Qualified candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in insurance policy analysis and/or insurance related litigation.  Excellent writing, communication and analytical skills are required.  Position involves some travel. Submit resume and writing sample.

 

Litigation Attorney (Buffalo, NY)

Hurwitz & Fine, P.C., seeks an attorney admitted to practice in New York to join our general litigation department in our Buffalo, New York office on a full time basis.  Practice areas will include defense of a variety of personal injury and other tort claims, including auto, premises, products liability and municipal matters.  Excellent writing, communication and analytical skills are required, along with at least 5 years of litigation experience.  Position involves some travel. Insurance Coverage Attorney (Melville, NY)

Hurwitz & Fine, P.C., seeks an attorney admitted to practice in New York to join our insurance coverage practice group in our Melville, New York office on a full time basis.  Qualified candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in insurance policy analysis and/or insurance related litigation.  Excellent writing, communication and analytical skills are required.  Position involves some travel. Litigation Paralegal (Buffalo, NY)

Duties include:

  • Providing high quality administrative and legal support in a timely manner

  • Assist in preparing legal documents including, but not limited to, pleadings, motions, and correspondence to opposing counsel and to the court

  • Track documentation and procedural developments in numerous proceedings and litigation

  • Schedule depositions and subsequent coordination

  • Maintain litigation docket and calendar, noting deadline dates for responsive pleadings/motions, court appearances, and other important deadlines

  • Assist attorneys in preparation for meetings, hearings, depositions and trials

  • Maintain, organize and track files

  • Client communication

  • Assistance with daily case management and general assistance to very busy practice

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal Certificate or Associates degree in related field

  • Qualified candidates should have at least three years of litigation paralegal experience

  • Commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to work with legal technology (NYSCEF and Federal court ECF, transcription software, digital dictation equipment, etc.)

  • Must be motivated, self-starter and be able to work independently

  • High level of dependability in completing assigned tasks and following through on assignments

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Must be able to multi-task

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

 

Legal Assistant (Buffalo, NY)

Duties include:

  • Providing high quality administrative and legal secretarial support in a timely manner
  • Assist with the preparation of  legal documents

  • Client communication

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in business administration or related field
  • At least three years of secretary/administrative assistant experience, preferably in the legal field
  • Commensurate combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to work with legal technology (NYSCEF and Federal court ECF, transcription software, digital dictation equipment, etc.)
  • Must be motivated, self-starter and be able to work independently
