New York Governor Hochul, in the State of the State Address and in her Budget Bill has proposed several tort reform measures to combat insurance fraud and help ameliorate the escalating cost of auto insurance. Hurwitz Fine members Brian M. Webb, who heads the firms Transportation Team, and Dan D. Kohane, who leads the Insurance Coverage & Extracontractual Liability Team, present their views in support of these measures, in a February 27, 2026, issue of the New York Law Journal.
