Mr. Eckert is a litigation associate in the firm’s Buffalo office. He focuses his practice on premises, automotive, and product liability, as well as municipal law and construction accident litigation.
Mr. Eckert has handled cases through all stages of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motion papers, hearings and trials, and appellate briefs. Mr. Eckert previously contributed to a successful brief for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and has argued before the New York State Appellate Division, Fourth Department.
Prior to joining Hurwitz Fine, Mr. Eckert gained experience in civil litigation at a small litigation firm, assisting in jury and bench trials. He also litigated matters for the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office in Pennsylvania. Additionally, Mr. Eckert interned with the Honorable William T. Tully of the Court of Common Pleas in Harrisburg, PA, assisting with legal research and drafting judicial opinions.
Mr. Eckert earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, Berkeley, and his Juris Doctor from Penn State Dickinson Law in Carlisle, PA. During law school, Mr. Eckert was actively involved in the Moot Court Society and National Trial Team, achieving notable success, including becoming a Regional Champion at the 72nd National Moot Court Competition and receiving both the Best Brief and Best Oralist Awards. Mr. Eckert also received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Negotiation/Mediation and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers in 2022.
When he’s not in the courtroom, Mr. Eckert enjoys acting and directing for local theatre groups.
