Anastasia M. McCarthy Honored as a Business First “40 Under 40” Winner

Hurwitz Fine is proud to congratulate Member Anastasia M. McCarthy on being recognized by Buffalo Business First as a 2025 "40 Under 40" honoree. This award celebrates young professionals who are leaders in their fields and deeply engaged in their communities.

Anastasia is a respected litigation attorney and co-chair of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group, representing businesses, municipalities, and school districts in complex, high-exposure matters.

Within the firm, she serves on the Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Associate Development Committee, and co-chairs the Women’s Forum, reflecting her commitment to mentorship and professional development.

Beyond Hurwitz Fine, Anastasia is active in the broader legal community. She is a frequent presenter on employment, litigation, and diversity topics and is a member of both the New York State and Erie County Bar Associations. As Co-Chair of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York’s Legislation Committee, she advocates for laws benefiting women and children, including support for the Equal Rights Amendment and statewide supervised visitation resources.

Anastasia is also deeply committed to service throughout Western New York. She has taken leadership roles in access-to-justice initiatives, including organizing Name and Gender Marker Change Clinics that have assisted more than 80 individuals. She is a graduate of the Buffalo Niagara Partnership’s Diversity & Inclusion Academy and the Amherst Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Business Leaders program.

Additionally, Anastasia remains engaged with the University at Buffalo School of Law and was recently accepted into the National Retail and Restaurant Defense Association (NRRDA), a recognition of her professional excellence and industry leadership.

Her ongoing work—whether through litigation, advocacy, mentorship, or community leadership—reflects her dedication to building a more equitable and inclusive legal community.
