Mr. Shimshi is a litigation associate in the firm’s General Litigation Practice Group in the Melville office. He proudly represents individuals and companies that have been sued for personal injury or other damages, in a variety of circumstances, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction accidents, negligent security, and general negligence actions.

Prior to joining Hurwitz Fine, Mr. Shimshi began his legal career in elder law litigation with a practice concentrated in Health Care Reimbursement and Recovery where he managed guardianship proceedings and hearings.

Mr. Shimshi earned his Juris Doctorate from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University where he served as a Notes and Comments Editor on a Law Review journal. Mr. Shimshi also authored an article, Major league baseball and the exploitation of Latin American children: Confronting baseball's greatest sin, which was published in Family Court Review, Volume 60. Mr. Shimshi was also a recipient of the Linda Carmody-Roberts Endowed Scholarship in Trusts & Estates/Elder Law.

Prior to law school, Mr. Shimshi obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the State University of New York College at Geneseo and gained practical experience as an intern with the Nassau County Attorney’s Office where he was responsible for handling municipal defense litigation matters.
