
Ms. Proano is special counsel in the firm’s General Litigation Department in Melville, New York. She concentrates her practice on defending businesses and individuals in general liability matters, drawing on more than 25 years of experience in insurance defense, insurance law, and automobile liability litigation. She has significant experience in handling high-exposure matters arising out of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits and has obtained favorable decisions for clients through numerous jury trial verdicts, arbitrations, mediation, and motion practice.
Prior to joining the firm, she served as a Trial Attorney in the staff counsel office of a major national insurance carrier, where she further developed her litigation skills in complex civil matters.
Ms. Proano earned her Juris Doctor from The City University of New York School of Law and interned at the New York State Attorney General’s Office in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from St. John’s University.
Ms. Proano is an active member of the Latino Lawyers Association of Queens County and the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association. On March 21, 2023, she delivered a speech at the United Nations for the G100 Women Leaders and the Permanent Mission of the Dominican Republic to the United Nations on the topic of Women in the Law.
