Vashti A. Persaud

Ms. Persaud is an associate in Hurwitz Fine’s Melville office, where she concentrates her practice on civil litigation and the defense of personal injury claims. Her practice includes automobile liability, construction accidents, general liability defense, and premises liability matters.

Ms. Persaud earned her Juris Doctor from the UA Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, where she was a recipient of the Student Success Award and served as a Rule XV Student Attorney in the Delta Divorce Clinic. She also served as Vice President of the Christian Legal Society and the Finch Legal Society. She holds a Master of Laws in American Business Law from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she was the program's first graduating LL.M. student and received the Tennessee Supreme Court's Law Student for Justice Award, along with Outstanding Performance Awards in Legal Research, Writing, and Analysis, the Structure and Operation of the American Legal System, and Contract Drafting. She received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Guyana College of Law, where her law journal paper examined the doctrine of separation of powers in the Caribbean legal model.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Persaud gained extensive litigation support experience as a litigation law clerk, senior paralegal, and law office manager, where she drafted pleadings, motions, and discovery, managed trial and mediation preparation, and oversaw staff and office operations.
