Ms. Fleming is an attorney in the firm’s Insurance Coverage Practice Group. She focuses her practice on insurance coverage analysis and litigation. She is also a contributor for Coverage Pointers, the firm’s bi-weekly newsletter. Her column, “Fleming’s Finest,” provides updates on insurance coverage opinions from the highest courts outside of New York.
Ms. Fleming obtained her Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2021, graduating magna cum laude in the top 10% of her class. While in law school, she was a member of the Buffalo Law Review, and her student comment discussing the test for determining habitual residence of children in international child abduction cases was selected for publication. She also participated in National Trial Team and was a member of the COVID Law & Community Engagement Clinic. At the clinic, she represented clients affected by COVID-related losses, including a small business and individuals appealing unemployment insurance denials. Additionally, Ms. Fleming was awarded the Moot Evidence Award and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award® (top of class) in Evidence. Ms. Fleming also previously worked as an intern at Legal Aid and as judicial intern for the Hon. Catherine Nugent Panepinto in Buffalo.
Prior to receiving her Juris Doctor degree, Ms. Fleming completed her LLB in Law and French Law (with First Class Honours) and postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice (DPLP) (with Distinction) at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. During her LLB, Ms. Fleming studied in French for a year at Université Lumière Lyon II in Lyon, France. At Aberdeen, she was a member of the cross country/track & field and triathlon teams.
