Jason A. Goodman

Mr. Goodman is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department, where he handles complex toxic tort, asbestos defense, motor vehicle accident, medical transportation and products liability matters.  He has experience defending litigated matters from inception through trial, including post-trial motions and appeals, for corporate and insurance clients.   

Throughout his over 15 years of defending toxic tort claims, Mr. Goodman has represented a wide range of clients, including manufacturers of boilers, pumps, automotive products, construction materials, cosmetic talc, and premises exposures.  He presented the defense position on General and Specific Causation in Asbestos Actions at the 2017 Upstate New York Asbestos Litigation Summit.

Mr. Goodman earned his Bachelor of Science from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry with a minor in business management and his Master of Studies in Environmental Law as well as Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School.  While attending Vermont Law School, Mr. Goodman also received his General Practice Certificate and served as a Dean’s Fellow, an appointment given for excellence in legal writing. 

Mr. Goodman is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Erie County Bar Association. 

Mr. Goodman is active in his native Western New York Community.  He served on the University at Buffalo Child Care Center Board of Directors from 2011 until 2018, serving as Board President in 2017.  Mr. Goodman has been recognized as a Top Platelet Donor at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center from 2021 to present.  He also coaches Hertel North Park softball teams.

Mr. Goodman and his family reside in the Elmwood Village neighborhood in the City of Buffalo.  They are avid skiers and runners, and also enjoy watching and cheering for the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, and New York Yankees.
