Michael J. Williams has joined Hurwitz & Fine, P.C. as special counsel in the firm’s general liability defense department. Mike will be focusing his practice on product liability, medical device litigation, defense of institutions involved in claims brought under New York’s Child Victims Act and municipal law with a focus on firefighters. He brings more than 20 years of litigation experience as both plaintiffs’ and defense counsel in New York and California to the firm.
Mike attended the University of California at Berkeley and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, where he advocated for the rights of historically marginalized persons and offered pro bono legal services. In addition, he also attended the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Emergency Management Institute through Texas A&M University, and completed emergency response training with the Erie County Department of Emergency Services.
