Ann E. Evanko selected by The Daily Record and Rochester Business Journal as a 2022 Legal Excellence "Lifetime Achievement" honoree

The Daily Record and Rochester Business Journal have selected Ann E. Evanko as a 2022 Legal Excellence honoree for "Lifetime Achievement."

Ms. Evanko is current Special Counsel and former President and Managing Partner of Hurwitz Fine P.C., and a trailblazer in the Western New York legal profession. In addition to her 43-year career at Hurwitz Fine, Ann was a founder and past President of the Western New York Chapter of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York (WBASNY) and has been an active member of the state organization. In 2000, Ann received the Committee on Women in Courts Award from the Eighth Judicial District in recognition of her pioneering achievement, outstanding leadership, and impact on the legal profession. She is the 2016 recipient of the Business First Lifetime Achievement Award for Women of Influence and recognized as part of the Western New York “Power 250” and “Power 100 Women” lists. Ann received the Athena Award in 2008, an award given by the Western New York Women’s Fund and the Buffalo Niagara Partnership to an individual who demonstrates support for the goals of women professionals and provides significant and selfless assistance on their behalf. Ann was also awarded the University at Buffalo School of Law’s 2019 Edwin F. Jaeckle Award, the highest award that the school’s Law Alumni Association can bestow. She is committed to the Western New York legal community and to helping women as a whole achieve their personal and professional goals. 

Legal Excellence was started by The Daily Record and Rochester Business Journal to pay tribute to all the ways legal professionals work to make the community stronger.

Awards are presented in the following categories: Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Civil Legal Services, In House Counsel, Law Firm Administrator, Law Firm Diversity, Leaders in Law, Lifetime Achievement, Paralegal, Pro Bono Excellence and Up and Coming Lawyers.

This year's Legal Excellence recipients will be honored Sept. 19 at an awards celebration at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, 125 East Main Street in Rochester. A general networking reception begins at 5 p.m. with dinner and the awards presentation starting at 6 p.m.
