In the beginning of August, the Safety & Wellness Committee here at Hurwitz Fine partnered with KidsPeace to organize a school supply drive in our Buffalo office to help children in need receive the school supplies they need for the 2022 – 2023 year.
Over the last few weeks, we received an abundance of donations from our incredible staff! Because of our team, we were able to donate nearly 500 pencils, over 30 boxes of crayons, and enough supplies to donate to multiple families.
We would like to thank everyone at the Firm who helped contribute to the success of this drive, and we look forward to our next event giving back to the community.
About KidsPeace: KidsPeace works with children in Erie and Niagara County who receive Medicaid, have serious emotional disturbances and/or chronic health conditions, and their families who struggle to meet their physical, emotional, and medical needs. While KidsPeace also does work with children in foster care, the majority of the families are community families living at or below the poverty line. These kids struggle with diagnoses like autism, adjustment disorder, depression, developmental delays etc. and they provide assistance linking the child and families to the appropriate providers, available services, food pantries, social services, donation centers, housing; and advocate for the kids and families in all of those situations, including in school.
