Since the beginning of October, Hurwitz & Fine’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee has been collecting personal hygiene and household items across the firm’s multiple offices to benefit the Buffalo United for Afghan Evacuees organization.
We are proud to announce that our firm’s efforts yielded over 500 items and a dozen grocery store gift cards that were donated to the organization’s mission! These donations will benefit the “first wave” of nearly 350 Afghan refugees coming to the Buffalo area and help support them as they resettle. We are very thankful to everyone at Hurwitz & Fine that donated to this wonderful cause.
About Buffalo United for Afghan Evacuees:
Buffalo United for Afghan Evacuees formed in August 2021. Recognizing the need for a coordinated response, five local organizations that resettle or serve refugees came together: Catholic Charities of Buffalo, the International Institute of Buffalo, Jericho Road Community Health Center, Jewish Family Services, and Journey's End Refugee Services.
