Thomas Casella

Mr. Casella is a member of the Insurance Coverage Group.  He brings 15 years of legal experience, 10 of those in the insurance industry holding a number of roles including Staff Attorney, Complex Claims Supervisor and Senior Risk Manager.  Mr. Casella has handled a myriad of liability insurance matters, guiding all aspects of coverage and defense, including: Fuel Dealer Liability, Hazardous Waste, Toxic Tort, Mold and Construction Defects, Employment Practices Liability, D&O, E&O, Printer’s E&O, Cyber Risks and Liquor Liability.  He has also handled many surety and fidelity bond matters, which included: Payment and Performance Bonds, DMV and Utility Bonds, Reclamation Bonds, Self-Insured Workers Compensation Bonds, Federal Black Lung Bonds and Title Bonds.  He was also successful in seeking subrogation recoveries from indemnitors.  As a Risk Manager, Mr. Casella provided guidance to independent insurance agents on industry best practices and authored numerous articles regarding E&O loss control. As an attorney, he brings his many years as an insurance professional and business acumen to his practice of law.

Mr. Casella is also experienced with ADR, having mediated many complex, high value claims nationwide with excellent results. 

Prior to his time in the insurance industry, Mr. Casella was a general practitioner focusing on matrimonial law, Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, real estate transactions and contract disputes. 

Mr. Casella is a former U.S. Marine where he served with distinction as Legal Services Specialist. In addition to earning his Juris Doctorate degree, where he was awarded the CALI award for Academic Excellence in Taxation, Mr. Casella earned an M.B.A. from R.I.T.
