Charles J. Englert III



Mr. Englert is an attorney in the firm’s Coverage & Extracontractual Liability and Child Victims Act & Sexual Misconduct Coverage & Defense practice groups. He concentrates his practice on insurance coverage litigation and coverage analysis in New York. He is experienced in preparing coverage opinions and analysis concerning complex issues, including those related to New York’s Child Victims Act, as well as drafting papers for all stages of litigation.

Mr. Englert obtained his Juris Doctor from the University at Buffalo School of Law in 2019. While at the University at Buffalo School of Law, he was a semi-finalist in the School’s Desmond Moot Court Competition. Mr. Englert completed his undergraduate studies at Marietta College (Marietta, OH), graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. While at Marietta, Mr. Englert was a member of the Varsity Men’s Rowing team. A founding member of the Marietta College Moot Court team, Mr. Englert represented Marietta at the American Moot Court Association national tournament in 2014.

Mr. Englert is a contributor to Hurwitz & Fine’s Coverage Pointers newsletter, where he pens a column discussing the developing body of law surrounding the Child Victims Act and insurance cases in the U.S. District Courts within the State of New York.
