Hurwitz & Fine continues to grow, welcoming seven litigation and insurance coverage attorneys, spanning from Buffalo to Connecticut. Read more below about our two members and five associates who have joined the firm this month:
Diane L. Bucci has joined as a member in the firm's Insurance Coverage & Extracontractual Liability practice group. Diane focuses her practice in insurance coverage analysis and coverage litigation in the states of New York and Connecticut. She routinely provides strategic advice on insurance related issues and risk management on a national basis for admitted, surplus lines, excess and risk retention group insurers and has successfully litigated cases in both state and federal court throughout New York State and Connecticut. She has significant experience as an appellate attorney in New York.
Timothy P. Welch has joined as a member in the firm's Litigation Department. Based out of Rochester, Tim adds an expanded presence to the firm throughout central New York. Tim has more than two decades of experience defending clients in complex personal injury, products liability, labor law, transportation and premises liability cases. As a seasoned litigator and appellate lawyer, he regularly protects the interests of businesses, property owners, contractors, manufacturers, retailers and transportation clients in State and Federal Courts throughout New York, as well as in mediations and arbitrations, administrative hearings, and before governmental and regulatory agencies.
Brenna C. Gubala has joined as an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. Her practice includes defending clients in municipal, motor vehicle, premises liability, construction negligence, labor law, and products liability cases. Ms. Gubala received her J.D. from New York Law School, her M.A. from the University of New Mexico, and her B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Ryan P. Maxwell has joined as an associate in the firm’s Insurance Coverage & Extracontractual Liability practice group. He concentrates his practice in insurance coverage litigation and coverage analysis in New York. A University at Buffalo School of Law magna cum laude grad, Ryan worked at Hurwitz & Fine as a law clerk during this time for two years, before joining the Coverage team.
Charles J. Englert III has joined as an associate in the firm's Coverage and Child Victims Act defense groups. C.J. is experienced in preparing coverage opinions and analysis concerning complex issues, along with drafting papers for all stages of litigation. He received his J.D. from the University at Buffalo School of Law and attended Marietta College for his undergrad.
Stephanie L. McCance has joined as an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department. She concentrates her practice on nursing home and assisted living facility litigation and medical malpractice liability, including surgical error and misdiagnosis claims. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Laws degree with honors in Scotland in 2014, completing her master’s diploma in legal practice with distinction the following year.
Cara A. Cox has joined as associate in the firm’s Insurance Coverage & Extracontractual Liability Department. She focuses her practice on insurance coverage litigation and coverage analysis in New York. Cara brings with her experience working for a national insurance carrier where she defended commercial and individual policyholders against tort actions involving premises liability and motor vehicle accidents.
