Ms. Westbrook is an attorney in the firm’s Litigation Department where she focuses her practice in employment law, mass tort/environmental law and automobile liability. Ms. Westbrook has years of experience in legal research and writing, as well as litigation and dispute management skills and in the preparation and representation of matters before the court.

Ms. Westbrook served as a law clerk for the federal U.S. Magistrate Judge Marian Payson where she assisted in the legal analysis, research and preparation of legal files and documents which served as the groundwork for judicial decisions and opinions. She also screened petitions, motions and complaints and regularly made recommendations on legal merit and procedure.

Ms. Westbrook has extensive experience in human rights having served as a legal intern and volunteer for numerous organizations that provide legal aid to the poor and underserved. She assisted Spanish-only speaking clients in the filing of wage and hours claims with the N.Y. Dept. of Labor and provided litigation management to Make the Road, New York, a Latino community organization in Brooklyn. Ms. Westbrook also drafted legal briefs and provided advocacy on behalf of seasonal and migrant farm workers in civil employment and wage matters, providing outreach services to farm labor camps and assisting in cases in various stages of litigation for Farmworker Legal Service of New York in Rochester. She also facilitated the completion of entry documents for immigrants and refugees for Viva La Casa, a refugee shelter in Buffalo.

Ms. Westbrook earned her J.D. in International Law at the University at Buffalo School of Law where she was a student co-director of the Buffalo Human Rights Center and an article editor on the Buffalo Human Rights Law Review. There she was selected by faculty as the honored recipient of the prestigious Linda S. Reynolds Award from Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc. in recognition of her exceptional commitment to equal justice for the poor. She was also selected as a Buffalo Public Interest Law Program Summer Fellow due to her tenacious commitment to the pursuit of human rights. She earned her B.A. in Government and Foreign Language at Hamilton College where she also studied South American Political Systems at La Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina.

Ms. Westbrook is fluent in Spanish and proficient in Japanese.
