Mr. Curran is special counsel in the firm’s Litigation Department where he focuses his practice in health care litigation and risk management, medical and professional malpractice defense, nursing home litigation, construction accidents, transportation negligence and product liability. An experienced trial and appellate attorney, he has been the lead attorney in over 70 trials resulting in a jury verdict. He has significant experience handling matters through alternative dispute resolution and serving as an arbitrator. Mr. Curran has also been asked to represent plaintiffs in catastrophic wrongful death and serious injury cases and has recovered millions of dollars in compensation for those families.

Mr. Curran served as an adjunct faculty member at the University at Buffalo School of Law where he created the course entitled, “Technology in the Courtroom.” He is a frequent lecturer for the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and School of Nursing, as well as for other health care professional and community groups. He has also authored numerous articles on important developments in health care risk mitigation and liability defense.

Well known for his trial advocacy on the local, state and national stage, Mr. Curran served as a National Board Member and National Secretary of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA). He was founder and first President of the Buffalo chapter. He is a member the Defense Trial Lawyers of Western New York and the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Curran has been honored by inclusion in Best Lawyers in America and New York Super Lawyers Magazine, both of which invite attorneys to review their peers across the state to determine which have attained the highest degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.

He received his Juris Doctor from New York Law School and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany.
