Hurwitz & Fine, P.C. is being recognized in the first ever list of Top Ranked Law Firms in the U.S. by Martindale-Hubbell. The honor was bestowed upon firms with a minimum of one-third of the firm’s attorneys having achieved the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating, the highest rating available for legal ability and professional ethics. This distinguished list, comprising less than one half of 1% of law firms nationwide, will be published on December 26th in Fortune Magazine’s 2012 Investor’s Guide, reaching 4.4 million readers. Fewer than 1,000 firms nationwide were selected for this honor and fewer than 60 law firms were selected in New York State.

Bosse Appointed Chair of ABA Accreditation Committee

Diane F. Bosse has been appointed chair of the Accreditation Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar. This committee is charged with the administration of the law school accreditation process. Ms. Bosse has devoted a substantial portion of her professional life to bar admissions and legal education. Ms. Bosse has practiced law in Buffalo, New York for over 30 years, representing self-insured and insurance company clients in a wide variety of insurance coverage and litigated matters.


Kohane Named Program Chair For National Conference

Dan D. Kohane has been named Program Chair for the Eighth Annual Judicial Symposium sponsored by the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence (NFJE) to be held in Chicago in July 2012. NFJE joins bar associations, law schools, think tanks and other non-profit organizations to provide education to appellate judges. The foundation publishes scholarly articles and hosts an annual symposium that focuses on timely, significant issues. Mr. Kohane served as Vice Chair and moderator of the speakers panel at the Seventh Annual Judicial Symposium, held July 15-16, 2011 in Chicago.

With full time staff in the Capital District, the firm can more efficiently serve clients in the Adirondacks, Catskills, Hudson Valley and Central Leatherstocking regions.
